Today’s guest is a very, very good friend of mine, Kristine Carlson. From the moment I met Kristine, I’ve felt such joy in my heart. I wanted this conversation to reflect the conversations Kristine and I share when we get together over a cup of coffee because we go deep!
I encourage you to listen to this conversation ALL the way to the end. We talk about everything you want to talk about with your friends but you may feel vulnerable talking about it. Especially if you’ve lost your husband or your wife and you want to ask questions about dating and sex and guilt and shame and about asking for help. We may even make you blush in this episode, but stick with us because it’s important!
Kristine is a woman that lost the love of her life very unexpectedly. He was the very famous, New York Times best-selling author of Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff, Richard Carlson. Kristine was so open and honest and spoke about the moment she got this very unexpected call by two people from across the United States telling her that her husband had died and shares some of the most intimate moments in the days following his death.
“This sucks and this is beautiful, is the duality of loss. I believe that’s one of the reasons we are here on this earth. It’s painful and it hurts yet we are wired to get through loss.” ~ Kristine Carlson
I hope that this conversation leaves you feeling inspired to practice living life after loss and to make the most of every day. Remember Kristine’s advice to “squeeze all the juicy juice out of every day and seek out the joy.” Seek out the joy every day like it’s your job because it is!
I know Kristine inspires me daily, I hope she does for you too. She lives life fully in an extraordinarily transparent way. She is authentic, honest, bold and she tells it like it is. If we could all live like that, life may be just easier for a while and more beautiful. To go even deeper be sure you look for Kristine’s books and podcast (links below).
I’d love to hear what you think of this conversation and how you see it translating to your own life. Be sure to comment below or connect with me on Instagram to tell me all about it.
