Lots of stuff in this episode because there is much to report on. We plan to diversify content within each episode so as to keep you abreast of things in JEM-land, to reflect on some notable news, and to build community among our listeners and readers. We're starting to get the hang of this after all this time!
Featured guest: Rev. David Miller and the Interfaith presence at Occupy San DiegoRaised in a Reformed Jewish house and eventually answering a call to be a Unitarian Universalist minister, David Miller's presence at Occupy San Diego was indeed one of interfaith. He tells about his interest in the persistent, decentralized movement as he sees it from his personal experience. David once took part in the Metanoia Gatherings, a JEM small group that met in 2006-2007, and which spawned the workbook, Shift Happens, co-authored with Lee Van Ham while David was going to seminary.

Like last year's series about the Gospel of Luke's Caesar-squashing cosmological tale, he takes a deeper look at some of the misplaced parts of the Christmas story, this time featuring some of the scandalous women in Jesus' genealogy as written in the Gospel of Matthew. All these entries can be found in our blog category, Unwrapping Christmas. Stay tuned during December for the remaining entries of this new series.
