Author Claire Matturro discusses her latest novel, The Smuggler’s Daughter. It is a crime thriller set on the Gulf Coast of Florida, which is Claire’s home state and a place that she readily admits is rich for crime fiction. The Smuggler’s Daughter is a twisting, turning game of cat and mouse. Claire’s story is inspired by real-life events that took place in Florida in the late 1970’s involving a drug smuggling ring that lead to several murders where the bodies were buried in a sink hole.
