"I've known that I've been gay since I was probably about six years old,” he says. “I knew going in [to the Navy] that I was going to have to do a lot of lying.” But the time finally came to tell the truth. Brett tells his empowering story in the memoir “Pride: The Story of the First Openly Gay Navy SEAL.”
Today on BOLD, Brett shares the roots of his painful coming out and the perseverance it took to thrive in a “Don't Ask, Don't Tell” world. His site is www.brettjones.net. Join the conversation at www.getboldtoday.com.
