Text: John 1:1-5
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
When we think of Jesus, we often limit our thinking to His earthly life—a teacher, a servant, a miracle-worker, an example, and a sacrifice. But John introduces Jesus to us as being much more than just a man. As “the Word,” Christ is described as being eternal in nature, one with God, involved in creation, and the life-giving light to the world. He is God, life, light, and salvation; the eternal, perfect in every way, infinitely powerful, all-knowing, ever-present Son of God. And yet, He willingly took on flesh and came to this world to become our Savior! The Son of God became the Son of Man and experienced humanity with all of its trials and temptations. What an amazing testament to the great love of God and oh, what a Savior!
How would you describe Jesus to someone who knew nothing about Him?
Don’t forget to pray and have a great day!
