Text: John 1:6-13
"There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."
Not much has changed in this old world. Jesus still offers light, love, forgiveness, and salvation to a dark and dying world, and the majority of the world still will not receive Him. He came to show us God and many still refuse to recognize Him. He came to show the Way and most still prefer to be lost. But it is also true that Jesus’ invitation remains open. To those who are willing to believe in Him and receive Him, He still gives the right to be called children of God and to take part in all the wonderful blessings that come with that relationship. What a loving and patient God, and what a Savior!
Why do you think so many people refuse to accept God’s love?
Don’t forget to pray and have a great day!
