In this episode, I interview psychologist Dr Jessica Browne. Jessica is currently a research fellow at The Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes. At this year’s annual scientific meeting, she will be presenting on a case-controlled analysis of young adults with diabetes, in relation to mental health and self care. Through her research, she has found that young adults have unique challenges to face when dealing with diabetes throughout their life.
I cover how to manage type 2 diabetes with nutrition and exercise. In particular, I discuss the glycemic index and what types of food to look out for when managing your blood sugars, and how exercise is beneficial to diabetic control.
