Throughout history, the oral tradition of story telling has been utilized as a powerful tool of influence, helping speakers reach their audience in a tangible, human way. Today it's really no different, and yet, how many presentations have you sat through that were dry-as-a-bone, void of any engaging anecdote that brought home a critical point? I'm willing to bet the vast majority and probably because most speakers are afraid that story telling is inappropriate for their audience! Jeff Tan however begs to differ. He argues that from the board room, to the classroom stories can and should be integrated every time we address a crowd.
