Philippians 1:27-30. Upon first glance we see these imperatives or commands: Live a worthy life, stand firm in unity, strive together, be unafraid, believe and suffer. Here Paul is admonishing the church at Philippi to continue on; regardless of his return. In verse 29 Paul says that it's has been "granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake . . ." If/when we suffer for being true to Jesus it's a badge of honor; that we fight in the battle that Christ has already won. The overal mood of the Text is similar to being given our marching orders for the battle that lies ahead.
