Philippians 2:1-4. Paul pleads with Christians to have unity in the strongest way in these four verses; the way we cultivate unity is by having the mind set of verse 4. "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
We see the purest example of this through the life of Jesus; who washed His disciples feet; and who went to The Cross. By this Jesus was obedient to The Father (to the point of death) and we also see Jesus' display perfect love for His neighbor in sacrificing Himself for them. The The theme or mood of the Text is to stress the dire importance of unity within The Church and the life of every Christian.
