We all have dark days.
There are some days that we are discouraged to the point that we can't even see any light in our lives.
That happened within my marriage in which my wife voiced her frustrations and concerns, and I could've retaliated back because I was extremely stressed as well, but I listened.
I REALLY listened.
I didn't try to coach her nor did I try to fix the situation.
I just sat there and listened to what my wife was saying, knowing that the struggles that we had when we were facing bankruptcy years ago wasn't what she signed up for.
So what's today's lesson?
Learn how to be a great listener.
Don't be the person that doesn't know how to hear, let alone isn't willing to listen.
As Stephen R Covey stated, we need to "Seek first to understand and then to be understood." -Stephen R Covey
I had to be man enough to listen to my wife without trying to fix her.
The second part of this is to BE STILL.
Be still, and know that He is God and is aware of where we're at in life, regardless of if we're prospering or collapsing.
During the dark times, we need to learn to BE STILL.
We all will have a time that we get to the point that we say, "I am Yours" because the despair gets to be too much.
God has delivered me, and I promise that He can deliver you as well.
Whether it's as the Children of Israel with Moses or as the leader in your home, if you are doing your part today, doing everything you know you must do and being who you are meant to be, then BE STILL and know that He is God.
I believe God will help us deal with whatever hardships we're facing, the Refiner's Fire requires us to BE STILL as we humble ourselves and know that God is aware of us.
