One day at a Time is a reboot of the sitcom of the same name that aired from 1975 until 1984. It starred Bonnie Franklin, Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli, and told the story of divorced mother Ann Romano, who moves her family to Indianapolis along with her two daughters.
The reboot sees a shift in a variety of elements compared to the original, such as the casting of a Cuban family, a son taking the place of one of the daughter’s, and mother Penelope being a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, to name a few. The reboot stars Rita Moreno and Justina Machado The original series was developed by Norman Lear, who served as a producer on the reboot.
