Like most entrepreneurs, workout enthusiasts and best friends Jillian Lorenz & Ariana Chernin felt that they could do it better. Their traditional workout regimens were missing something. That something, they decided, was supporting women to feel great about themselves from the inside out. What if a workout included motivation based on empowerment and not fear or body shaming? The seed was planted in 2010, and today Ariana and Jillian are behind 33 studios with 50,000 members across 13 states. The Barre Code’s continued growth is proof that there was a deeper relationship to be had between mind, body, and the barre.
