Speaking of tired, I recorded this podcast from two different airports with a pretty terrible microphone. It was the only way I was going to get the podcast done this week, but I apologize for the audio quality. Or lack thereof. ;)
In this week's show, we are sharing ideas for ways to cope with life when you are JUST TOO TIRED to cope. We all have days when we are extra busy, stressed, sleep-deprived, etc. and we need some basic ways to get through them with grace. Some of the ideas I share:
1) Cross some things off your list.
It might be chores, household upkeep, carpool, errands, complicated dinner menus … whatever it is, make your life easier by taking some obligations off your plate. Everyone will survive. I promise.
2) Ask for help.
We don't like to ask for help. Our pride gets in the way. But sometimes, to get through an especially tiring time, we need to ask others to pitch in. Give them the grace of the opportunity to be generous with you!
3) Make sleep a priority.
This sounds like a no-brainer, but how often do we resist or avoid rest, even when we are very tired? No Netflix, no Facebook. Get yourself to bed early tonight!
4) Watch your diet.
Sugar and caffeine are texting when you are sleepy, but they will sabotage your sleep at night, making you're recovery take much longer. Preserve your sleep by avoiding "easy drugs" to wake yourself up. Your body will thank you and recover more quickly from the Crazy Tired.
We also share some feedback from David N. in response to Andrea's difficulties wth her mother-in-law we shared on the show last week. Calling on all men to admit you are listening to Girlfriends! Thank you, David!
