This episode we welcome Matt Horne, a great personal friend, pastor, husband, father, coffee roaster, architect, drawer, and photographer.
Cody and Matt sit down and chat about Matt's architecture background, how that developed from a love of drawing and how it help him, and his family, on the mission field in Uganda.
We also talk about how architecture in churches reflect the beliefs that we hold about God. How would a church building do that? Matt expounds, and really only scratches the surface, of the history of architecture in church buildings, going all the way back to pre-renaissance and the gothic era and then bringing it up today.
What designs we see in those old buildings today compared to the "mega-church" style building today is vary different and thats because the built environment will shape and reflect the culture and beliefs in that culture about God.Listen in as we get a little deeper into the building around us and how design speaks to us...
