With my family's Polynesian background, it's common for us to tell everyone to take our shoes off.
Everyone, that is, except me.
I tend to walk around and wear my shoes still for one excuse after another, but ultimately it comes down to the fact that I don't take the time to take them off.
And I got called out for it.
"Daddy, why do you wear your shoes around the house but expect the rest of us to? You are not a man of integrity."
This lesson hit me HARD.
Whatever you say has to MEAN something and do what you say you're going to do by honoring your word.
