Robbie Gould nailed a 24 yard field goal in the final seconds of the game when San Francisco defeated the Bears 15-14. Gould hit all five field goal attempts with his first visit back to Soldier Field since the Bears cut him before the start of the 2016 season. Chicago native Jimmy Garoppolo completed 26 of 37 passes with an interception, it was his first start for the 49ers. The 3-9 Bears lose their fifth in a row and head coach John Fox fell to 12 and 32 in the three seasons he has been at the helm.
