Ben Cattaneo is a risk management professional, podcast host, endurance athlete and martial artist. Ben currently works as Chief Risk Advisor for a major telecoms company in the UK and has over fifteen years of professional experience in risk management.
However, Ben’s passion for risk and uncertainty goes beyond this. The concept of risk, in Ben’s view, is misunderstood. Many believe that it is something negative and to be avoided. Ben’s take is that nothing is further from the truth. To not take risk, to not embrace uncertainty, is not to live. However, this needs to be done intelligently.
Ben hosts a podcast called “All Things Risk” (www.allthingsrisk.co.uk) which features an exploration of uncertainty, resilience and risk in all aspects of life via long-form conversations with fascinating guests. The show aims to help people become more comfortable and confident in taking risks, be accepting of uncertainty, and become more resilient.
A Canadian who is based in London, Ben has lived and worked in South Korea, Switzerland, the Philippines, and the UK. Ben has given several professional presentations on risk at industry conferences and has done TV and print interviews for the BBC, Financial Times, and other publications. He has written several articles on risk management and has authored chapters in books on the topic.
