Charles Duhigg said that “Productivity is about making certain choices in certain ways. The way we choose to see ourselves and frame daily decisions; the stories we tell ourselves, and the easy goals we ignore; The sense of community we build among teammates; the creative cultures we establish as leaders: These are the things that separate the merely busy from the genuinely productive.”
This book explores the eight ideas that Mr. Duhigg’s research found to be most important in expanding productivity: Motivation, Teams, Focus, Goal Setting, Managing Others, Decision Making, Innovation, and Absorbing Data

Each week I will create action steps for each of us to work toward, based on the books we read. The books and the sequence we will progress through them have been purposefully laid out. When we are through the last book, you will already have accomplished more in 10 weeks than you did all the previous months of the year and you will have a robust plan as you head in to 2019. Imagine 2019 for a moment. 2019 could be the year that all your dreams will come true, that you accomplish more than you imagined was possible and you also have time to enjoy life and to reap the benefits from your productive life. That is what I want for you and that is who you will be if you come along with us on this productivity journey.
The book for next week will be: “Deep Work” by Cal Newport
As a side note, if you aren’t able to read the book prior to listening, we will give you a high-level overview and will give you enough information so that you can work through the exercises with us. So, even if you do not read the books, you will learn A LOT from each episode. Still, each one of these books are packed with so many nuggets of goodness and there is no way we can cover everything in them, so I highly encourage you to read each of them as you work along with us to transform our productivity!
