Episode 1 - Releasing Expectation

You have been raised to expect certain outcomes.  That isn't judgment, its just how each of us is raised, regrdless of background.  You are conditioned to have expectations.  Think about it.  You were told that if you were good you would be rewarded.  If you were bad you would be punished. 

As you grew you became used to making judgments about people, places and events.  It's only natural for your mind to try and piece together how someone you just met will behave.  You think about their mannerisms and behavior and put them into a category so that you can better interact with them.

Normal or not, having expectations limits your ability to be happy.  No two people are exactly alike, nor will they act the same.  So when you make judgments of someone new based on similarities they share with someone in your past you are doing them and yourself a disservice.  By judging them you become blind to their uniqueness.  Your expecation of how someone will react makes it impossible for you to truly experience all that they are.

You limit your experiences because of these preconcieved ideas.  The same is true of events as well.  Perhaps you gave a talk in college or at work that didn't go well.  That doesn't mean that the same thing will happen every time you speak going forward.  Each moment is a blank canvas.  When you release expectation you experience each moment as it is, untainted by experiences, good or bad.

This releasing allows you to experience each moment in a joyful way, as each of them are, unencumbered by history.
