What happens when you are in that place where there seems to be no options, no obvious solutions?
This week I was reminded once again that there is an amazing God of the universe who is able and willing to intervene...
Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord!
Here's why - he's better than anyone could every imagine.
Yes, he's always loving and kind, and his faithful love never ends.
Psalm 107:1 TPT
But how difficult is it when we are in the waiting? We know that He is able and He will. We just don't know when and how! These are the times when we have to choose to trust Him, and keep choosing to trust Him, and keep choosing to trust Him.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. Psalm 56:3 NIV
It sounds so simple to do - just put your trust in God. It's in these times that we need to keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus. We can't look to the left or to the right as there are distractions all around. We need to do whatever it takes to keep God's truth front and centre in our minds. His promises, His rhema words to us, that is what we need to be meditating on. Not the 'I don't know,' the 'What if,' the 'It's not going to work.' And I am reminding myself of this now too!
I set my heart on your precepts and pay close attention to all your ways. My delight is found in all your laws, and I won't forget to walk in your words. Psalm 119:15-16 TPT
A couple of weeks ago someone asked me if there was a prayer in my book they could pray during a family member's major operation. There wasn't a prayer as such. However I spent some time reading through the scriptures that I had included, scriptures that had breathed life and hope into me in some very dark moments, and compiled them into this prayer.
So let's pray and declare God's truth over our lives and circumstances....
We give thanks to you Lord, declaring Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night. (Psalm 92:1-2)
We are choosing today to approach Your throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
We look at the mountain in front of us and declare that our help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2)
Thank you Jesus that you are here with us. We will not be afraid. (Joshua 1:9)
Your grace is sufficient for us today, for Your power is made perfect in our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Thank you Jesus that we do not have to fight this battle. We will take up our positions, stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give us. We will not be afraid. We will not be discouraged because we know that the LORD is with us. (2 Chronicles 20:17)
Thank you Jesus that by your stripes, ______ is healed and made whole. (Isaiah 53:5)
We know that you Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and out-stretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. (Jeremiah 32:17)
Help us to not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (with definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make our wants known to you God. Thank you that Your peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Thank you Jesus that as we wait upon You, You will renew our strength. (Isaiah 40:31)
We will hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)
We declare that in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us. (Romans 8:37)
And we declare that Jesus came that _____ may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). (John 10:10)
We give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34)
Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burdens and carries us day by day, even the God of our salvation! Selah [pause and think calmly of that]! (Psalm 68:19)
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
