Today we learn about freelance consulting with Dr. Christopher Loo.
Christopher is a retired surgeon, serial entrepreneur, investor, consultant, executive coach, best-selling author, and advisor. He received his MD-PhD from the Baylor College of Medicine-Rice University Department of Bioengineering.
He entered an orthopedics residency, but realized quickly that patient care would not be right for him. Once he finished his residency, he quickly began to explore other interests, including real estate, technology, and writing.
As a consultant, Christopher positioned himself at the intersection between technology and medicine. His first role as a consultant was assisting hospitals that were moving from paper to electronic records. He worked with physicians and nurses to get them up to speed with new systems and communicate their needs to the engineers building them.
He has now built a successful business brand and career, authoring three books, and speaking extensively about business, financial freedom, and entrepreneurship to audiences worldwide.
His just-released book is called The Physician's Guide to Financial Freedom: Getting Started as A Consultant: How to Launch and Brand Your Unique Skill Sets to Position, Leverage, and Capitalize on Niche Consulting Opportunities.
You can hear the rest of his story, and his advice for physicians interested in developing a career as a freelance consultant in this week's episode. For the show notes, a transcript, and links to resources discussed in the interview, go to vitalpe.net/freelance-consultant.
