Meet Grammy award-winning sound engineer, Oz Fritz. A wizard of his craft and a mythic character in the music world- Oz possesses a profound mind and a deep soul connection. A true pioneer of the 70s counter-culture, his life and work have been inspired by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, occultist and magician Aleister Crowley, legendary producer Bill Laswell, and a personal/professional relationship with master recording artist Tom Waits- with whom Oz won a Grammy. Our conversation takes many twists and turns through Oz’s rich life and career. A journey that has taken him all over the world, from Calgary all the way to the rural villages of Northern Africa. Most recently, Oz has been the touring sound engineer on the Simrit project. Oz has generated a palpable magic in his life by exploring the depths of being through the lens of sonic form.
