I recently realized how many people we have who are new to the community and I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about myself, my background, and the LaunchStreet journey. In particular, I want to share how I became obsessed with innovation as a key to human potential and to personal, professional and business success.
In this episode, I talk about my childhood — you’ll hear how my tendency to do things differently and challenge how things were done started at a young age, and my early career. Working at some of the biggest global agencies and interacting with international brands really shaped my outlook on innovation, as did my first (failed) business venture.
I am a strong believer that everyone should be obsessed with innovation, and that given the room and the ability to unleash it, everyone is and can be innovative in their own unique way. I relate the story of Steve, and why he is the reason I became obsessed with innovation, and my experience at Johnson & Johnson which pushed me to start focusing on innovation from the ‘people perspective,’ not the ‘process perspective.’ That incident also taught me that there’s a language to innovation — if you change your language, you change your outcomes. And really, our ability to innovate as humans is the key to living up to our potential and the key to staying relevant in changing times.
