Becky and Autumn sit down with therapeutic professional Beckie Hennessy, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, owner of BRICKS Family Counseling. Beckie is APSATS trained (Associate Partner of Sex Addicts Trained Specialist) and a CCPS-candidate (Certified Clinical Partner Specialist) and works with partners of sex addicts in her practice. Beckie shares what trauma is, how that relates to betrayal trauma, and common ways trauma manifests. She emphasizes the importance of beginning with SAFETY when working with those with betrayal trauma. Boundaries, forgiveness, and trust are discussed and Beckie shares her experiences of having the Lord involved in the healing process. She ends by reminding each of us that we can each be held by God and that God isn’t going anywhere.
