How to sell without the sales pitch  If you have a service-based industry, selling can feel intensely personal and demoralising. But, if you see yourself as a problem-solver rather than a sales-person, you can start to make selling an enjoyable part of your business…   

Selling is one of those words that strikes fear into the heart of many of us. We don’t think we’re good at selling, we don’t like pushing people to buy, we don’t want to be one of those annoying cold callers… but, the reality is that we’re, all of us, selling all of the time. 

Victoria Fleming is an expert in the art of selling and she definitely doesn’t see herself as a salesperson. To her, selling is a way of solving problems – her client has a problem, she has the solution, and that solution costs £x amount.  

It can be particularly difficult to embrace the sales side of your business if you deal in services rather than having a product to sell. Instead of having something physical to flog, if you’re in the service industry you have to convince people that you are the best person to do business with and this can be extra daunting for the non-seller.
