EP. 86 Keeping up with the Joneses: Quarantine Edition

As my girl, Vee Frugal Fox says, “It’s a global pandemic, not a productivity contest.” However, when our competitive natural instincts come out, and we fuel the fire with endless hours scrolling through social media, we’re left with the worst case of “keeping up with the Joneses” our lifetime has ever seen —the quarantine edition.

Our emotions are on edge, nothing is normal, people are sick and jobless, but yet we’re still finding ways to try to one-up each other, even during COVID. Some of us are purging closet and picking up new hobbies, while the rest of us are choosing Netflix and cookies to cope. And guess what yall!? Both options are okay. In fact, both in one day are even okay.

You’re allowed to handle this trauma however YOU need to handle this. Cry if you need to cry, make an elaborate schedule if you need some structure, and sleep if you need an escape. We’re not here to shame others, or down ourselves —we’re here to survive.
