First, my apologies for the occasional sounds of my kids in the background. :) Moms, you get it...
Today I wanted to address how to handle it when you find yourself in a situation that brings back a flood of old feelings that you thought you had worked through. You suddenly feel left out, sad, isolated, your confidence has gone through the floor, and you feel like a kid again instead of a strong, confident adult.
How do you stop that old thought pattern?
Please note before going into this episode that we are NOT addressing more serious issues such as abuse, neglect, etc. In those situations where feelings and thoughts are triggered by those memories, I encourage you to seek out a licensed therapist/psychiatrist, etc. who can safely and properly help you work through that.
Today is dealing with relatively lighter situations that we can catch on our own or with the help of a friend.
We never want to feel sad or isolated--we want to feel seen and loved. The surprising part? It starts with ourselves. Listen in and let me know what you think!
