Wendy's clinic is based in The Yoga Collective and to mark International Yoga Day 2020 she talks with Clare Whitehouse about the benefits of yoga.
Emotionally and physically, yoga can help us connect with our bodies and minds. It should be a practise that is very personal and everyone should find their own pace and motility. Centering on how your body feels and pushing gently into poses rather than competing with others.
Flexibility and strength in both the body and the mind are key to yoga, and Clare likens it to her 'old age pension'.
We spend much of our modern lives sitting and then exercise can be focused on building muscle or speed. Yoga is about slowing down and stretching the body. Re-aligning and centring, it is not a results driven form of exercise but a practise that we bring into our lives.
The CV-19 pandemic forced Clare and her business partner Lynny to take their classes online, which is something they had been toying with for a while. They are still offering a wide range of classes to suit every ability online, and whilst they are looking forward to getting back to their beautiful studio the online classes are here to stay.

Clare mentions The Boat Inn as one of her most memorable meals.
