Sunn m'Cheaux is gifted. He is an activist, artist, and the first and only Gullah language instructor at Harvard University. He has an intelligence and spirit about him that connects and penetrates. I remember seeing him perform his poetry almost twenty years ago and being extremely impressed by his artistry, heart, and command. That soulful intelligence and spirited conviction is most definitely apparent today. In this episode, Sunn and I reminisce a bit about our time together working as artists in Charleston, SC, before jumping into the rich culture of the Gullah Geechee people, race in America, Black Lives Matter and Sunn's important work as a teacher of his native language at Harvard.
