Just because divorce courts in California are unfair doesn't mean the same is true everywhere. Just because one culture holds a certain set of values doesn't mean others agree. If you don't like it somewhere, leave. Don't stay and fight or be miserable. Go where you're treated best and find the opportunities you can't find where you are now.
