Elena Bresse is a survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon Terror Attack. She was at the finish line waiting for her husband Jeff, who was running that year when two bombs exploded. In a split second, her life completely changed. Though she did not lose her life that day, she lost her ability to be in public places and be safe. Her mind could not erase that day and PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) sneaked up on her causing emotional and physical pain.
In this episode:
Elena opens up about that horrific day. She tells us what made her decide to fight for her life and turned this tragedy into a platform for mental health advocacy to support survivors struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues.
