Joey Miles got into yoga early whilst studying for his degree in drama at Goldsmiths University in London. Starting practice in 1998, he assisted Hamish Hendry at Ashtanga YOGA London whilst also developing his practice with him.
In 2004 he was authorised by Pattabhi Jois to teach Ashtanga and led the Mysore program at the well esteemed triyoga in Primrose Hill at that time.
In 2009 he relocated to Leeds in the north of England where he established Ashtanga Yoga Leeds. In 2014, after numerous trips to Mysore he competed the Advanced A series with Sharah, a remarkable and rare accomplishment.
Joey teaches with renowned enthusiasm and attention to detail. Outside of teaching his other passion is music. He has 3 children, combining a dedication to his own practice and teaching with a hectic family schedule.
