Janet Slom, MFA, is an artist, author, educator, and social entrepreneur. She serves as adjunct faculty for Lehigh University’s Global Village, has taught at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and as a guest speaker at the University of Miami. She is the originator of Mindfulness-Based Self Expression (MBSE), to inspire artistic and personal growth while building on the core principles of mindfulness by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Her book, An Artful Path to Mindfulness, guides readers through an experiential curriculum that integrates mindfulness meditation, creativity through art, and mind/body practices to cultivate resilience, wellness, and interconnectedness. Originally from South Africa, she currently resides with her family in Westport, CT and Miami, FL. Her artwork and installations have been exhibited throughout the world.
