Being selfish has a negative connotation. It can mean that we're only looking out for ourselves without regard for how it affects other people.
But I want to encourage you to start being selfish in a good way--in a way that means you're still conscious of how your actions affect others, that you're still open to helping people, but most importantly, that you're taking the necessary steps to follow your dreams. That you don't stay where you feel stuck and unhappy because you're worried that if you take the risk to live the life you want, that someone might be mad.
THIS IS YOUR LIFE. What do you want out of it? Does it involve taking a risk? Why aren't you taking that risk?
