Valeria Teles interviews Bhavana Gesota — she is the author of My 12 Moon Journal: A Guided Journal for Creative Self-Exploration
An unexpected health crisis led Bhavana to leave her materially successful career in the technology sector in 2016. The diagnosis of Hashimoto’s served as a wake-up call to an inner calling that had been brewing for several years but had gone neglected.
She consolidated her global working life and settled in a small rural village in Peru with the sole aim of healing at the mind, body, and soul level. Hashimoto’s compelled her to seek within and ask the question –
How does my soul wish to express itself in this world?
She picked up her paintbrush and the pen and began to paint and write as the two primary ways to express what is inside.
While she consolidated her material life, she also consolidated the various spiritual journeys she had taken over the years and concluded that all real journeys begin and end with one’s Self.
The inspiration in creating this journaling guidebook is rooted in her insights through the practice of cultivating self-awareness and becoming genuinely intimate with her own self. The method of self-inquiry – Who am I? by Ramana Maharshi, act as her guiding lamp-post.
