Tiernan Douieb is a stand-up comedian, writer and podcaster. He is known for using his comedy to sift through serious subjects in the friendliest and funniest manner possible. In the last few years Tiernan has been a regular support act for Frankie Boyle as well as writing on his BBC2 series New World Order. Tiernan writes and hosts the Partly Political Broadcast podcast which was one of the Guardian’s Top Ten Political Podcasts of 2018.
In this episode, Sarah and Tiernan talk about:
How Tiernan created his podcast to make politics more accessible for himself and others and why he wants his comedy to do good Risk taking in the act of standing on stage being yourself, and learning not to care about what people think of you Building the confidence to be on stage AND do the material you want you do Learning to be less competitive and knowing that personal achievement is not a race The hardship and silver linings of 2020 and what Tiernen did when he lost a year of work overnight How comedy can unite people and be a form of protest Learning that you can say yes to the things you want to do and not just do what others expectSign up to Sarah's newsletter to get resources and inspiration - https://mailchi.mp/b9608d949bdb/newsletter-sign-up
