The unintended result of major metropolitan areas in lockdown and millions of Americans now working from home has been home sales that are off the charts. One of the biggest drivers in this uptick of renters leaving cities to become first-time homebuyers in the suburbs are millennials. No longer can a one-bedroom serve as both an office and a residence, and the amenities of living in a city in lockdown have long been taken away. Older generations are also seeing a unique opportunity to sell while the market is hot instead of waiting until retirement.
