In this episode of the Creative Spaces podcast, we talk to Tom Griesgraber. Tom is one of the world’s most respected performers on The Chapman Stick, a unique 12-string instrument that affords Tom the ability to express his musical ideas. He has toured as a solo artist with Bert Lams (of the California Guitar Trio), Agent 22, and Jerry Marotta. He has performed as an opening act for The Tony Levin Band, Carl Palmer, The Dixie Dregs, Steve Hackett, Adrian Belew, Al Dimeola, Stanley Jordan, Bill Bruford’s Earthworks, Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather, Muriel Anderson, Tower of Power, Asia, Michael Manring, Tim Reynolds, and many others. Tom is also an accomplished producer and engineer for artists like the California Guitar Trio, RyMo (of Slightly Stoopid), Peter Pupping, and more. Tom is joining us today from his personal studio in California.
Tom shares info about what inspired him to learn how to play The Chapman Stick, how he turned his childhood home into his personal studio, and the joy of skateboarding.
