In episode #030, Zeina shares her personal story of pregnancy loss. She struggled with fertility issues before getting pregnant with her first child, and then experienced a subchorionic hematoma and lost her second pregnancy at six months gestation. After making some lifestyle changes, she was able to get pregnant naturally following this late miscarriage.
Zeina is a researcher and a PhD student in maternal and child health. She focuses on exposure to certain toxins, and how this may impact the risk of pregnancy loss. We also discuss the disparities affecting different racial and ethnic groups in relation to miscarriage and pregnancy loss.
