THE SNOWBOARD PROJECT
Pro Files : Valentino Guseli
This is the youngest rider we have ever interviewed. This is also his first interview. Why? Because Valentino Guseli may be the hottest up and coming male freestyle competition rider in the world today.
At the age of fifteen, two weeks ago, at his first FIS World Cup event, he won the qualifiers, besting his countryman and undeniable top halfpipe rider Scotty James. He did it by going big. Not just large but mega. I've always said amplitude is the hardest trick. If that is true, Val may be the rider doing the hardest trick, consistently. In fact, perhaps no other riders today can make big spins in the pipe look lazy and slow rotating.
Talk about a bight future. Look for Valentino to quickly make a name for himself - not unlike Zeb Powell, who was a relative unknown when we talked to him a few years ago. We expect the same from Val.
Valentino Guseli. Definitely a name to remember.
This week’s interview is brought to you by Cardiff Snowcraft, Never Summer Industries Tow Pro Lifts and United Shapes. We ask that you support the brands that support disruptive snowboard media. Find out more at their websites.
