Tonight's Guest WeatherBrain earned his PhD in atmospheric and space sciences from the University of Michigan. He was part of the team that transitioned the Space Weather Modeling Framework (SWMF) from research to operations at NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center - the first such transition of a physics-based numerical geospace model. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a developer for the SWMF and studies both the physics of space weather and advancements in space weather forecasting. Dr. Daniel Welling, welcome to WeatherBrains!
