Title: Wicked Games and Wasted Years, Part 1
Sara is sad. Her brother and Darrel died in that horrible way, and it feels like everyone but her just wants to forget. Even her best friend Tanya who was there to see the gruesome aftermath doesn’t seem to care as much when it comes to Sara’s obsession with reliving their past - around the fire. But Tanya is just a forward thinker, and she does help Sara stay sane. Then when Sara met Brandon, her life too was propelled forward - into marriage - while she clung dearly to the past.
Sara is happy. Her husband Brandon is fun, a great cook, but most of all, safe. It’s easy to trust his advice, and she follows it by starting grief counseling. But then, Brandon starts acting, different. Yeah, he had his ways before they were married, like the whole friends thing. But Sara is quickly finding herself confused all of the time, and feeling uncomfortable around her husband. It’s hard to tell if her feelings are justified. And Tanya’s advice is always the same. Make him talk to you. But talking to Brandon is the thing she dreads most. It’s turned into a game of fighting for her sanity that Sara never asked to play.
How will Sara feel then, when she realizes only one way out of the narcissist’s game?
--Abigail's Targeted Tip:
Your blurb should have two layers of meaning: text and subtext.
