Welcome and thank you for listening!
In this episode we spoke to Nicolé Vos about pregnancy’s effect on skin and more specifically, stretchmarks. Nicolé is a mom to three kids (one of whom is four-legged) and enjoys being part of a network of people who love making a difference in the lives of many. She manages all the marketing for Mozaic Marula Oil and is the sales representative in the Garden Route.
As with all other organs, pregnancy has a profound effect on a woman’s skin. Although stretchmarks are not completely preventable, good skincare can go a long way to limiting symptoms and long-term effects.
Tips include:
· Apply a nourishing lotion or tissue oil to the skin of the abdomen, thighs, arms and breasts.
· Avoid sun exposure or wear sunscreen at all times, to help limit hyperpigmentation.
· As the skin is more sensitive in pregnancy, many women will experience allergic or sensitive reactions to skincare products. Consider organic products and used products tested for sensitive skins and made by a reputable company.
