— The reality is, from a young age I started building the idea of this perfect human based on what I had seen, been taught, read, and heard and just allowed it to get more complicated over time. Once we reached the age of social media, it got a lot worse. What I learned was nobody is perfect. Because I spent so much time beating myself up about my life choices, I lost sight of all of my admirable qualities. I’ve learned to ask for feedback and appreciate the opportunities for growth provided through those conversations. What matters is that you are continually to work on being the best person you can be and treating yourself, and others, with kindness every step of the way.
