Description:
In this episode, Fiona shares her journey from enjoying working abroad for little money to choosing to become an international accountant earning lots of money. When work was only available in the UK, she became very ill and wasn't able to work and experienced money worries for the first time in her life. Then she began to choose differently and created careers that brought not only money but great joy to her life.
Key points:
When we have shyness in our world, it can be hard to ask for the value of what we are offering Some people will be suspicious of us if we are not charging enough; that what we offer isn’t going to give them the change they are looking forTools and questions:
What am I willing to value in me?
Can I have the money now, please? (ten times)
Practice and get in the habit of being willing to mention money to your clients. Ask: How would you like to pay for this?
When a client is booking an appointment, ask: Would you like to bring cash on the day or would you like to pay by PayPal or would you like my bank account details or would you like to go to my website where you can pay by card?
What would it be fun for me to charge? And maybe upping it a bit until you feel uncomfortable.
When potential clients are objecting to pay for your service, ask: What’s the kindness to me here?
