Have you ever found yourself face to face with some kind of resistance or obstacle in your life and immediately blamed yourself for it?
If you’re human I am going to guess the answer is yes, because we’ve all been there. We’ve all faced resistance in our business and lives and instead of compassionately reminding ourselves this is a normal part of the process, we blame ourselves for it.
We will list off our reasons as to why we aren’t good enough and why we were dumb for ever thinking we could do x thing.
However, we aren’t alone in making mistakes or facing resistance so why do we so quickly belittle and blame ourselves when we do?
Part of becoming a person who lives out the life we desire is actually letting go of this idea.
We aren’t alone, you aren’t alone. We all launch things that do not turn out the way we hoped. We all struggle to create content (I re-recorded this week's podcast episode for a record setting 10x before I felt satisfied enough with it). We all feel like an imposter at times.
It’s all a part of the process of becoming. Please be a little gentler with yourself the next time you find yourself in a situation you’d rather not be in.
Maybe, just maybe, this isn’t actually a sign that you’re not cut out for something. Instead, maybe it’s a gentle reminder that you’re human, constantly in flux.
I dive deeper into this topic on this week’s podcast episode if you want to come along for the journey with me. I lovingly mock myself for how I personalized struggling to create this week's episode as if it meant something other than I was just having a hard time creating a piece of content.
Keep being awesome my friend. We all hit bumps in the road, it's what makes life fun.
Remember that you’re doing way better than you’re giving yourself credit for.
