The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has “reviewed” the science and the literature and decided that it’s an excellent idea to tell fat folks to eat the same amount of calories that a 2-year-old needs. Fun! When I say they reviewed the science, I mean that they didn’t really and totally misunderstand what HAES is…thinking it’s a weight loss mechanism, and coming to the conclusion people should avoid it as it doesn’t work…as a weight loss solution.
