Last week's episode, Episode 295,
was It's Spring Time and it contained 4 items that high school student athletes can do this Spring to rev up their recruiting. The 4 items were turned toward the high school student-athlete, but parents need to know what's going on too. The items were #1 Take care of academics #2 Work on your sports skills #3 Communicate with college coaches and #4 Get help from a parent or a mentor. So go back and listen to last week's episode.
This week we tilt more toward 4 things that parents need to do to assist with in their son or daughter's recruitment. Here's item #1 that parents can do for their son or daughter's recruitment this spring, Discuss the process with their student-athlete. Item #2 is The parent should be the scheduler #3 The parent needs to be the administrator or the overseer.
The last item, #4, is Be an encourager, your son or daughter will need this.
Over the last two episodes, Episode 295 and on this episode 296 There are some key points to parent-athlete teamwork. Working as a team throughout the whole process will be less stressful for both the parent and the student athlete. Working together as a team helps the student
athlete focus on his or her academics, improving athletically and on communicating with college coaches. Remember this is not a sprint, if you start early in high school by educating
yourself and researching schools, the shared workload will pay off.
