Valeria Teles interviews Vernice Morris — she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Entrepreneur who identifies herself as an African American woman.
She is currenting pursuing her 200Hr YTT(yoga teacher training) through Authentic Movements. Originally attending college to fulfill her childhood dream of being a sports agent, Vernice found herself as an AmeriCorps Volunteer serving the homeless population of Spokane, WA. After her service year, Vernice decided to pursue her masters in social work. As she began working in the social work field, Vernice experienced her own mental health breakdown in 2016. Since, she has dedicated her life to working to support individuals in creating a life of their own design by improving their mental health utilizing cognitive, behavioral, and integrative psychotherapy. Following in the footsteps of her grandparents, Vernice is a second-generation small business owner. Vernice resides in Arizona where she provides psychotherapy to individuals/couples through her practice Breaking Waves Counseling and has a passion for working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ populations.
